Experience

since 2004 – NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners Professional Partnership of Advocates

 

  • Represented, in cooperation with other lawyers of NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners, the interests of UAB “Naftos gavyba” during the international arbitration proceedings conducted in accordance with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Arbitration Rules regarding the possible withholding of information in the Share Sale and Purchase Agreement, and the resulting recovery of loss (2008 – 2005).
  • Represented, in cooperation with other lawyers of NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners, of the Republic of Lithuania (with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania acting on its behalf) during two arbitration proceedings conducted in accordance with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Arbitration Rules regarding the alleged breach of the Agreement on the Protection of Bilateral Investments entered into between the Republic of Lithuania and the Russian Federation (2009-2007).
  • Represented, in cooperation with other lawyers of NORDIA BAUBLYS & Partners, of the Republic of Lithuania (with Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania acting on its behalf) during the proceedings conducted by the Court of Appeals in Paris on the basis of the claim filed by the Government of the Kaliningrad Region of the Russian Federation against the arbitrary award in the international arbitration proceedings regarding the alleged breach of the Agreement on the Protection of Bilateral Investments entered into between the Republic of Lithuania and the Russian Federation (2009).
  • Represented the Lithuanian investor in the international commercial arbitration proceedings conducted in accordance with the Expedited Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) against a subsidiary of one of the largest companies of the aluminum industry in the world (2009)
  • Represented a Lithuanian oil company in the international arbitration proceedings administered by the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) (2009-2010).
  • Represented SAVA GmbH & Co. KG, a German hazardous waste management company, in a dispute regarding the performance of the hazardous waste management contract (2009).
  • Represents, in cooperation with other lawyers of the NORDIA Group, the Lithuanian investor in the proceedings pending before the Svea Court of Appeal (Sweden) regarding challenge of the Award granted under the Expedited Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) (pending).
  • Represents a Lithuanian investor in proceedings regarding the recognition and enforcement of the arbitral award granted under the Expedited Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC)  within the territory of the Republic of Lithuania (pending).

Other activities

Albertas Šekštelo was reporting on application of interim measures of protection on the 15th of November, 2011 at the conference “Arbitration day 2011: Relation of courts and arbitration in solving commercial disputes”, that was organized by the Vilnius court of commercial arbitration in cooperation with Lithuanian Ministry of justice and the Lithuanian business confederation (ICC Lithuania). Since 2010, a member of the Initiative Group involved in the drafting of the new wording of the Republic of Lithuania Law on Commercial Arbitration.
